Chocolate Applesauce Oat Cake Recipe

Boiling water
Oats
Butter
Granulated sugar
Brown sugar, packed
Eggs
Applesauce
All purpose flour
Baking cocoa
Baking powder
Baking soda
Ground cinnamon
Walnuts, chopped
Butter
Milk
Vanilla
Powdered sugar

Oven Temp ~ 350°
Bake Time ~ 30 - 35 minutes
Pan Type ~ 9 x 13" baking pan


Preheat Oven, spray pan with nonstick pan spray.

Place oats in a small bowl and cover with boiling water, set aside.
In a large mixing bowl cream the butter and sugars until fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time beating well after each addition.
Stir in the applesauce and oat mixture.
Add the flour, baking cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon mix well.
Fold in the chopped nuts.
Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake the Chocolate Applesauce Oat Cake in a preheated oven for the allotted time or until toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Cool on wire rack for 30.

Place the water and butter in a small bowl and heat in microwave for 30 - 60 seconds.

Remove and stir until butter is melted.
Stir in the vanilla and powdered sugar.
Drizzle glaze over cake.

Cool on wire rack completely before serving.

Serves: 10 - 12
